NEW! Shar Super Cloth is made of an untreated microporous fabric that cleans up and holds rosin dust, perspiration, and won't leave lint. Material is similar to those used to clean professional camera lenses and sunglasses. Machine washable, handy size 14" square comes a plastic pouch, excellent value.

"These little cloths are so effective at cleaning rosin dust and fingerprints off of my instrument! I keep extras around the house to clean smudges from CDs, eyeglasses, and TV screens. The soft, microporous material holds in dust and wont scratch delicate surfaces."
- Dan Plonka, Violist & Senior Shar Apprentice

Excellent cloth!

I love this cloth! It does a very good job cleaning my instruments without upsetting the varnish. I would recommend, if youíre a serious violinist or string player, to get a few of these cloths, and rotate between each one every few days. You can put them in the laundry and they come out absolutely perfect afterwards (unlike some other microfiber cloths that break down after being washed). I think perhaps the issue the last reviewer below (Holly) experience with the cloth is that she probably used the same one without washing it for a while. If you do that, you wonít really be cleaning the instrument, youíll just be mixing rosin dust around your instrument. I would definitely not recommend using paper towels to clean your instrument.

I bought one of these with my previous Shar order for use on my viola and it does a great job--probably the best cleaning cloth I've used. I'm ordering a second one for my guitar.

I used this on my violin for a year and wondered why the varnish kept getting less and less shiny. Nothing I did made it better. It was when I took my violin to the shop for a cleaning that luthier said these microfiber cloths actually make the rosin smear around the violin instead of clean it. His recommendation is what I've used for the last 6 months and I love it: Bounty Paper towels. Yup...violin is still shiny and clean. Those microfiber cloths are terrible for your instruments!
