Further, the table of contents incorrectly refers to musical items 2, 4, and 6 as sonatas.” These are actually the partitas. Bach’s 6 Sonatas and Partitas are not a total of 12 works; they consist of 3 Sonata da Chiesa & 3 Partitas.
