Serving as Shar Music’s preeminent bow specialist, John Perrett is recognized by artists across the country, who place their trust in his ability to offer reliable and well-balanced bow rehairs that complement and respond to the unique characteristics of their bows. John graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a degree in Music Education in 1987 and subsequently taught beginning and intermediate strings in the Plymouth Canton Community Schools for six years.
Upon joining the Shar staff in 1988, John first worked as a sales representative for the Fine Instrument and Bow Department, before joining the Restoration Shop in 1994 and turning his attention to the art of bow repair and restoration. In addition to rehairing bows, John’s expertise extends to master-level bow restoration skills involving tip face, winding, and thumb replacements; frog adjustments and repairs; French polishing; and other services.
