30 years after the Jade Rosin’s debuted, rosin maker Alexandre Thorvaldsson knew something was missing, “When I make a new rosin, I know the quality will be good, but I wanted to change the aesthetic” (The Strad, February 2022). The result: Ruby Hard Rosin, a shimmering, red rosin that is a variation on the evergreen Jade Rosin. With only minor changes to the recipe, like altering the beeswax, this rosin precisely balances grip and minimal dust.

All ingredients are natural, sourced from Europe. A key to the resin’s superb quality is the use of “maritime pines in Portugal where a consistently mild climate interferes minimally with resin quality throughout the year.”
