Paul Knorr Violin, Markneukirchen, 1936

An excellent example of one of the finest makers to come out of Markneukirchen, Germany, this violin boasts power and rich overtones.

Lower Bout: 205mm

The back is of two pieces of maple cut on the quarter of medium width flame ascending from the center joint. The ribs and scroll are of similar maple. The top is of two pieces of spruce cut on the quarter of narrow width grain widening slightly at the flanks. The varnish is of orange-brown over a golden ground.
