REVIEW VIDEOS

Newly arrived, this exemplary example from master bowmaker Otto A. Hoyer demonstrates the superb craftsmanship coming out of Markneukirchen in the first part of the 20th century. In excellent condition for over 100 years old, this bow was carefully examined in our shop before having a new tip facing, leather, and winding. A firm stick with a balance point favoring the tip, this bow is perfect for the heavy-handed player looking for pure power.

Octagonal pernambuco stick. Ebony frog with silver mountings.

Albert Otto Hoyer (1889-1966) founded his shop in Markneukirchen Germany after studying under one of the greatest French bowmakers, Eugene Sartory. Hoyer was so proud of his studies under Sartory, he stamped his bows "OTTO A. HOYER PARISER" in honor of his teacher. Otto came from a family of well-respected bowmakers going back to Carl Wilhelm Hoyer (1772-1836).
