Emily’s Reel (1999) by Mark O’Connor is a piece written for Yo-Yo Ma’s daughter as a gift. Later, 10-year old Emily allowed the trio (consisting of her father, Edgar Meyer and Mark O’Connor) to record it on the Sony Classical album Appalachian Journey. The CD reached the number one position on Billboard’s Classical Crossover music chart. The music is suited for advanced and intermediate levels.
