"[This violin] has been dated to circa 1750, but whose actual date of construction may well be reconsidered in light of future research. . .The outline follows a pattern much like that of the Rogeris, and the edging -- small, neat, nicely rounded, with curious corners brought almost to an exaggerated teardrop -- are especially reminiscent of the work of Pietro Giacomo Rogeri, the son of Giovanni Battista."

- Stringed Instruments of the Milanese Liutai of the Contrada Larga, Journal o fhte Violin Society of America, Vol 14 #3, p. 43-102 by Philip J. Kass

Maker
Gaetano Pasta (c.1678 - c.1760), son of Bartolomeo Pasta. Pupil of Hieronymus Amati. In 1701, he married the widow of the bowmaker/maker Stefano Lassigner, inheriting Lassigner's workshop.
