Flesch Ebony Violin Chinrest - Center Mounted with No Hump

Flesch Ebony Violin Chinrest - Center Mounted with No Hump

I thought I'd try a center chin rest to see if it helped me with pitch improvement. I think it has. Just that little movement to the center from a side chinrest might be assisting me with pitch. If you are a beginner like me, it might be worth a try. I made sure the chinrest material was ebony rather than rosewood so as not to risk a chin and neck rash which rosewood sometimes promotes.

I had difficulty holding the violin using the traditional chinrest and purchased this as a result of my teacher's recommendation. Playing the violin is now far more comfortable.

The center position of the chinrest balances my violin much better. I have less neck and left shoulder strain when playing. Liked it so much I got one for my viola too!
