Opal Green Viola G String Nylon Silver

I'm always reluctant to try new strings and this has only supported that fear. I have stuck to Evah golds with a Larsen A, even when I bought a new viola. The instrument has a big, full sound, so I was hoping to find a string that would help bring out the rich/darker side of things but maintain a bold sound. This was not it unfortunately. The strings are slow to speak and don't produce a very resonant sound. String-to-string I suppose they are fairly even, but I notice the biggest discrepancy lies in different positions and the string's ability to produce tone drastically decreased as you shift upward. Worse, the tone tends to "break" as the string length gets shorter if the player makes any attempt to produce a clearer or bigger sound.
