Bam Contoured (Shaped) Hightech Violin Case

I loved buying my new BAM Paris case through Shar Music. When I bought a previous one through another company, I don't remember much about how it was packed. This one was packed very protectively and even had a shar key chain. (P.S. if you made vinyl stickers I know we would love that) My music was all in the large box, and undamaged.

I got this case as a lightweight replacement for a Bobelock shaped case which I use instead of my trusty old Weber Oblong when traveling. Nice apparently rugged case although spartan inside--no blanket included. Has room for my Kun Voce rest, 2 bows, and a few small accessories (which is basically all I want when traveling). I like the backpack straps with their safety locking feature although the case would be a little more comfortable to carry if it could ride a little higher on my back. One thing I'm not super-happy with is that the key locks are very sticky and require some force/jiggling around with the key to get the latches to lock (unlock is not an issue). Am looking into whether this is a defect or "normal" for this case but at any rate this is a feature I don't expect to use much. I've noticed that the case appears to be more sensitive to temp/humidity changes than my Weber since my violin seems to go out of tune more quickly when stored in the case. Also based on other comments about this case and temperature sensitivity I will be buying a BAM "Hoody" to cover it...

It's a sturdy violin case, and it's a beautiful one. However, it is so easy to get scratches on the surface. We just bought it but within a week, paints came off where were scratched. Wished that surface color would stay much longer.

Received my case in the mail today and overall am satisfied with my pricey purchase. My violin feels quite safe inside, it's light, and very sleek looking. The straps that are included also feel very secure. However, I ordered the blue version of the case, which is presented as a very navy blue in the pictures online. This turned out to be quite a disappointment for me as the case in reality is an azure blue and not was I was looking for. Keep this in mind if you're eyeing the blue one and don't make the same mistake.

I bought this case because I have a lot of backaches and headaches and do a lot of walking with my case, and this was the lightest and best quality case. I am very happy with it! I bought mine in the Tweed and it is very light and very sturdy. My only complaint is that the outside shell scuffs and scratches VERY easily. The lack of outside music pocket took some getting used to, but its totally worth it for this case. Highly recommended.
