World Book Day 2025

Coinciding with the anniversary of the death of famed playwright and poet William Shakespeare, World Book Day was first conceived as a day to honor writer Miguel de Cervantes in 1922. In the years since, UNESCO has elevated its purpose to promote literacy and publishing worldwide.
