DOUBLE STOP ACCOMPANIMENTS: Martha’s love of double stops entered her violin teaching studio over 20 years ago, as she would “on the spot” make up double stop accompaniments to pieces that students were working on. The end result adds greater harmonic fullness. The level of difficulty is Mozart concerti / solo Bach.
TRIOS: It makes perfect sense to add a third player to form Simplified Trios by dividing the double stops. The same 21 titles are included from the Suzuki-licensed book Folk Song Melodies for Violin Ensemble, which includes the first 12 pieces from Suzuki book 1, Twinkle through Etude, along with 9 additional folk songs such as Camptown Races, Freres Jacques, Way Down Upon the Swanee River etc.
