Martha's Double Stop Solo and Duet series continues in this lovely 17-piece compilation of Favorite songs that are familiar to most children. Many are from Suzuki book one and the remaining ones are a mixed bag of cute songs. Two verses of difficulty in this volume.

Her novel concept for students to learn double stops begins by playing duets first, with the identical notes combined and rewritten as a double stop solo on the opposite page. As students play the duets first, their ear is given a nice example to help them along as they learn to play the double stop solos.

Volume I is for students that have never played double stops before (late Suzuki book 3, Bach Bourees, Seitz Concerti) and has no shifting or 4th fingers. You will find lots of 3rds, 6ths and octaves with ringing 3rd fingers.
