Wieniawski, Henri - Fantasia on Themes from Gounod's Faust, Op. 20 - Violin and Piano - Edited by Greive - International Music Co.
REVIEW VIDEOS
Henryk (Henri) Wieniawksi is unique among the many 19-century violinist-composers in how he is one of the few whose works continue to have an important place within current mainstream violin repertoire. Besides the two violin concertos (Opp. 14, 22) and two sets of caprices (Opp. 10, 18), among his most widely played works are the Legende, Scherzo Tarantelle and two polonaises (Opp. 4, 21) as well as other Polish dance-based miniatures. THe intent of this publication is to make available a practical, Gounod’s ‘Faust’, Op. 20 that will meet the needs for a variety of interpretative approaches.
