Introducing the Shar Music Custom Series Legende Violin
Finding an advanced or professional instrument can be a daunting task. You might end up trying dozens of different models only to find that none really suit your playing style or have the tonal characteristics you are seeking. If you’ve ever tried to commission an advanced or professional violin, you know the process takes a long time and is very expensive. Even worse, after up to two years (or more!) of involved technical communications, multiple in-home trials, and anticipation while the luthier does their work, you still might not end with an instrument that gives you everything you need to play your best.
With the new Shar Music Custom Series Legende Violin, we introduce a new way forward. Now you can have a customized violin, without the lengthy process or professional price tag. You pick your instrument, then work directly with one of our luthiers to customize everything from strings to fittings, and beyond! It’s a smoother, more accessible, and more modern experience which will result in a world-class instrument designed to meet your personal musical needs.
This violin costs $6,000 total. Half of that total is due up front to claim your custom experience violin.
Spaces are very limited, so don’t wait! Our custom violin makes a great gift, as well. We will work directly with the intended player, be it you or another player receiving it as a gift.
After your spot is claimed with the purchase of a down payment, we set up an initial virtual consultation with an instrument specialist and a luthier. Here, we will discuss your playing needs and pick out the instrument that will be customized for you. Then, our luthier gets to work setting up your violin to your specifications. Next, the fun part – you get to hear your instrument for the first time! Either virtually or in-person (depending on your proximity and preference), we will schedule a play test where you can hear your violin, and we can discuss any necessary tonal adjustments. Lastly, you will get to play your instrument in the comfort of your own home or studio with an In-Home Trial. We’ll keep in close touch over those few days to make sure you are completely satisfied.
Due to the customized nature of this instrument, please allow up to 3-4 months from initial consultation to completion.

Your satisfaction is our top priority, and your Custom Series instrument may be reworked several times to ensure that satisfaction.
In-Home Trial:
The In Home Trial shipment consists of items sent to you as a deferred-billing sale. While all items are billed on an open account basis when they are shipped, customers will only be charged for those items which they keep, and those which have not been sent back to Shar by the return date at the end of the trial period. The return date is calculated to allow for the seven-day trial period, plus shipping times to and from Shar. Modest extensions of the return date may be arranged by contacting us via phone or e-mail. Shar will mail invoices and all other appropriate sale documents after your purchase has been finalized. Any documents of provenance will be mailed separately.
Returns & Exchanges:
The deposit for Shar Custom Series instruments is nonrefundable after the first consultation. Shar reserves the exclusive right to cancel the order and refund the deposit at any time.
Unless defective, Custom Series instruments are nonrefundable after purchase. All defective instruments purchased from Shar are returnable up to one year from purchase. If defective, please contact our Customer Service department to discuss repair or replacement options. Repairs or replacements will be made at the sole discretion of Shar Music.
Return shipping arrangements can be made via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. You will be responsible for return shipping charges. We recommend using a trackable and fully insured method. Unless authorized in advance, Shar will not reimburse expedited or international shipping expenses, no matter the reason for return.
