Hindemith, Paul - Trauermusik (Music of Mourning) - Viola (Violin or Cello) and Piano - arranged by Fritz Willms - Schott Edition

I use the bow grip to provide a more secure
And proper bow hold. The notch in the rubber makes it much easier for students to feel the proper placement of the bow thumb. The thickness and tactile feel of the bow grip makes it easier to hold.

Everything about the edition is clear. I think the composition should hold a significant place in any violist's repertoire. I'm glad that one of my students is able to work on it, and I look forward to her performance. While I bought the version for viola and piano (which includes editions for violin and for cello!), I also own the accompanying parts for string orchestra, and I especially look forward to her performance with my summer chamber orchestra in late July.
