I purchased this bow for my daughter's 1/10 size violin. I am a violinist and teacher myself and I do not like this bow at all. It is bulky and heavier than other bows. It is also much more difficult to turn the adjusting screw and I can already tell that the hair tension has been compromised after only 6 months of use.
I heard Shar buys cheap stuff from China. This confirms it. Probably has Coronavirus too!
These bows are junk! Iíve got a $10 Cecilio bow (wood!) and this one I got second hand. It feels cheap, it has no life in it. The only good thing about it is that the button is nice and sturdy. Not worth $10 let alone $45!
I purchased this bow for my daughter in size 1/2, then 3/4 later. For being a picky child, she did not complain about the bow at all. Now she just moved up to the full size violin, and she requested to have the same bow!
The first one I had the frog cracked after 5 months. Shar replaced it and my daughter used it for another few months. I just took it out for my son to use and see itís cracked in the same place as the first one. Itís never been stored with the screw tightened.
Itís very low quality and disappointing.
