Berber Boxwood Violin Chinrest

I am a professional violin/viola player, and previous to this chinrest used the Wittner center rest (which unfortunately, all of them broke). I have a shorter neck and use an Everest shoulder rest (not very tall). Everyone is going to need to experiment with different combinations of chinrest/shoulder rest; for me this one works great. My only quibble was that the bottom curved-out portion of the chinrest was touching the tailpiece of my 1883 violin. So I had a woodworker carve this chinrest---however the area had to be carved quite a bit and he accidently went thru the wood (but repaired with some magic putty). I don't know if others have had to customize this chinrest to fit their tailpieces but this seemed a bit strange. It's not a big bother but just worth mentioning, it would be 5 stars if not for that strange need to carve it out.
