Note: Despite the title on the cover (Six Sonatas), this book does contain the six works known as the Sonatas and Partitas, BWV 1001 1006. Further, the table of contents incorrectly refers to musical items 2, 4, and 6 as sonatas.” These are actually the partitas. Bach’s 6 Sonatas and Partitas are not a total of 12 works; they consist of 3 Sonata da Chiesa & 3 Partitas.
