REVIEW VIDEOS

The Kun Original fits 4/4 and 3/4 sizes and is one of our most popular shoulder rests. Height adjustable from 1 1/2 to 2 by lengthening/shortening screws, and legs pivot for pitch adjustment. The Kun Original #1313 and Kun Collapsible #1313C differ from the Kun Super #1313S in that they have four holes on each end for width adjustment. Some prefer this design due to its great width adjustability. See Kun Super #1313S for description.

Great shoulder rest! Very comfortable and doesn't slip off my violin.

Worst feet ever

I've used Kun Original shoulder rests for over 30 years and they've served me well. When my old rest began to wear out, I had no idea anything had changed in the design, so bought a new rest at my local music store. It wasn't until I opened the box at home that I learned the rest was collapsible (wasn't an option when I bought my first Kun) and also had these awful, overmoulded forks (aka "feet"). Although this particular model isn't collapsible, the feet are still dreadful because they slide all over my instrument. The rest not only doesn't stay in place, but it often doesn't stay on the violin either. The original rubber tubing/classic forks are infinitely because they stay right where you put them and don't move or slide everywhere while playing. Kun does still have the rubber tubing/classic fork feet available, but you have to contact Kun directly for them.

Love this shoulder rest!

I had a Wolf Forte Secondo shoulder rest for years and it fell off all. the. time. I resorted to anchoring it with a rubberband and I still had issues. I ordered a Kun after a recommendation from my teacher and I love it! I've been playing on it for a little over a month and it hasn't fallen off once!

Hate the feet

I've had a Kun for 15 years, loved it and recommended it to countless students. Since the change to the new feet I have discouraged students from buying the Kun because it will not stay on any instrument. It's a shame because it's otherwise a great all-around shoulder rest. Until they bring back the old feet I'll be recommending the Wolf.
