This high quality folding music stand is one of the most convenient that we have found. In fact, the head of our Product Department immediately bought four for his quartet! Made with high strength tubular steel shaft and legs, it features a fold-up polycarbonate desk that quickly collapses to fit into the included 24 x 6 x 6 carry bag. Height adjusts from 24.5 x 53, and the desk has a large 20 x 13 surface. Weighs only 6 lbs. for easy carrying. The legs do not come off, but it fits in the bag perfectly!

"I liked this stand so much I bought 4 for my quartet!"
- Val Jaskiewicz, VP Merchandising

"I'm a total sucker for innovative design ideas. As a result, I'm a little infatuated with the Peak Collapsible stand.Occasionally, I've played small gigs on a very short timetable, with limited time between arrival and being on stage. The Peak Collapsible stand is an excellent choice: it sets up and breaks down very quickly, its microphone-style base is reliably sturdy, the shelf is deep, it fits in a compact carrying case, and the back plate of the stand is filled in leaving no possibility for music to get caught in joints during quick page turns. Plus, you will look too cool snapping your stand together in front of awed onlookers."

What's the Best Stand For Me?

That depends on how you'll use it.

Metal folding stands are lightweight, compact and economical. Shar offers many choices of these. The LS5 Compact stand is our lowest priced stand and includes a vinyl bag too. Spend a little bit more and get a Hamilton stand in either chrome or black finish. The Gig-N-Go stand is our heaviest folding stand - greatwhen you need more stability. If what you want is a very lightweight stand, choose from the Aluminum Compact stand or the Ultra Light Aluminum stand (which has a unique locking clasp to keep the desk absolutely fixed in place).

If you want something with more stability, but still lightweight, choose a portable stand in plastic. We offer four great choices - the Peterson stand is very cool looking with a transparent blue option. The Peak stand has proven very popular and folds neatly into a 6" x 6" x 24" bag for easy transport. Nilton offers two stands - The Studio stand that has a solid desk that slips neatly into its carry bag, and the Magic stand, with a unique folding design that lets you place the legs and optional light inside the folded desk - for very compact and secure travel. The Magic has been the personal favorite or Charles Avsharian, Shar CEO, for 20 years.

For studio use or wherever you need more durability, choose a metal orchestra stand. Shar offers Hamilton and Manhasset stands in a variety of designs. The Manhasset model AC48 is the classic orchestra stand, known by generations of music students. It now comes in a variety of colors too! Hamilton has been making stands since 1883 in the USA, and offers some unique features, including a one-hand adjustment system on the Trigger model (KB1FS). The other major difference between these stands is that Hamilton desks are steel, while Manhassets' are aluminum. A steel desk weighs more, but will also be more durable and resistant to bending, and allow the use of magnets.

I own 20 of them and love it!

These are by far the best stands! I bought 20 of them and handed them out to my musicians so they can bring them to the gigs. I like how they are affordable and so easy to use and sturdy. Everyone lways asks me where I got them and they are so surprised at how cheap they are. I strongly recommend the Peak music stand to every musician. ... (See Full Review)

    Convenient but flimsy

The concept of this stand is great. It's easy to set-up and disassemble when your done. Unfortunately, it's just as easy to break where parts connected. I ended up ordering a 5th stand because ne of the first four I ordered came already broken. So far, 2 more have broken since. Not a good buy for very active musicians. These would be good for practice if you're not going to put them away so you won't risk breaking them apart when you assemble/disassemble. ... (See Full Review)
