In 1919 violin maker Dr. Franz Thomastik and civil engineering specialist Otto Infeld founded the company, invented the steel string and caused a revolution in the music world. Suddenly the conventional gut string was challenged by a new string with the highest quality of tone, precision and reliability. It was received enthusiastically by virtuosi across the world.

For a perfect sound, Thomastik-Infeld has consistently chosen steel and nylon as the string core material for bowed and plucked instruments.

I thought it was tungsten but it wasn’t. I wanted to give it a try but string is more thicker than I expected and hard to have warm deep sound with it. I personally prefer thomastik tungsten more than this one. :)
When in doubt, I can buy this string and know that it is consistently good, dependable, and long lasting. You get what you pay for so don't go cheap.
The Thomastik C Starke is a strong sounding C string especially once it breaks in.
I've been using Spirocore Tungsten Wound for around 8 years now and it has never disappointed me. It's the perfect balance of direct and bright while maintaining the warmth and resonance of a c string.
