Zyex strings

I thought these did not last long, I also thought they seemed scratchy from the start. I will not order them again.

Warm, rich tone with excellent projection for the price

"Not sure why one of the previous reviewers had problems; every set I’ve had lasts for months before they start to come apart, if at all. If they do unravel at that point, it’s usually only one string in the set. I play contemporary Christian music as part
of a church worship band, and I play twice a week. My violin is an acoustic with an electric pickup placed under the bridge. I tried the Vision Solo and I couldn’t tell the difference. I tried the Dominant and the tone seemed to lack depth (dull?) in comparison
to my violin. Helicore I found to be too bright for my taste. If you are looking for a warm tone and a good projection for a decent price, this is your string. I do not hesitate to recommend it."

Very warm, dark strings!

I love Zyex strings! I used Helicores, which are also great and by D'addario, for years but switched to Zyex quite a while ago. They have a darker, fuller, and richer sound than Helicores and respond very easily, though they don't have the easy bounciness of Helicores. You're paying style will have some little adjustments if you've played on Helicores, but it's not much of one and you can easily readjust back to Helicores if you go back. I haven't had the problem of getting bad strings the other reviewer had, and I also buy them ahead of time(within a reasonable amount though). I hope that post doesn't give Zyex a bad rep, because they don't deserve it, from my experience. I play both fiddle and classical viola. I've used much more expensive strings quite a lot before on violin, but I love these for my fiddling. My only wish is that they made a five-string Zyex set (but I can easily circumvent that by getting 13-15' viola Zyex C).

Pretty ok.

I Usually use Helicores but I decided i would try out other strings before i set my mind on one particular one. when I strung it up it was pretty decent but then I noticed that it had a undesirable crunch to it but it is very slight. The feel of them are very nice but I don't know if I would get them again.

these are nifty

I was thrilled when I found Zyexes. The sound is a little brighter and airier than Dominants, and they have a great dynamic range from soft to fairly loud. They are durable, and stay true for a long time.
