Dominant Strings

Thomastik Dominant strings possess a warm, round sound quality, are extremely durable, and have a fast, easy response; usually right from the moment you put them on your instrument. This has made them one of the most popular strings for almost every violinist and violist, intermediate level to professional. Many teachers recommend them to their students over brighter steel strings because of the warmth and depth of the sound they generate.

Thomastik Infeld Dominant Strings Order

It had been a while since I had ordered strings from Shar. However, I easily found my recent order, which helped me to make my selection for strings for my violin. I ordered these strings online and received them very quickly. The order was shipped within hours and was received in a very timely fashion. Very good service from Shar and great strings for my violin. Great experience.

Not a fan of these strings

I bought this set of strings upon the advice of a Shar salesperson in the hopes of toning down the very loud, bright fiddle that I play. I've been using Evah Pirazzi strings but was looking for something a bit more mellow. Unfortunately, it sounds like
my fiddle has caught a cold with these strings on it. The E in particular buzzes and squeaks. The sound is a bit more mellow but also dull. I know different instruments react to strings differently but I am not a fan of these. I'll stick to the bright clear
tones of the Pirazzi strings in the future.

Wonderful sound

Hadn't changed strings (I shudder to say) in probably 5 years, so in taking my violin up again more seriously, I needed new strings. These Dominants have such a nice warm sound, but not muddy, and I can get great volume as well as a pleasing quiet sound.
