High quality bows representing the finest German workshops. Expert wood selection, artistic cutting, and a jewel-like finish are combined to produce these beautiful bows.

Do you need a new bow? Most players, regardless of skill level, eventually come to the realization that a new bow would be beneficial to their technical and musical development. If your current bow feels like it slips and skates on the surface of the string... if you have a hard time producing more than just a few tone colors... if your off-the-string bowings are noisy and hard to control, then you should consider trying different bows. Please call one of our specialists, all string players, to discuss the Shar In-Home Trial Program: 866-742-7270.

I said, "Wow"

I bought the C2 from the Shar store in Ann Arbor in September of 2004 and have been delighted with it. The Shar representative played on my violin with several bows and when I heard this one I simply said, "Wow! that's the one." Rich sound, easy to control. I'm not a professional musician - I play for the pleasure of it and this bow gives me playing and listening pleasure.

Excellent

I used a bow trial to try this bow along with 5 others, with most bows in the 1000-1500 price range (this was the second cheapest bow I had ordered). This bow is excellently made, and when paired to my violin creates an incredibly full and resonant sound throughout its register. The bow is relatively easy to handle (harder than the "beginner" bow I've been using for years, but on par with the other bows I tried and nothing that I couldn't adjust to) including some of the more difficult bow techniques.
Interestingly, I had assumed this was the 3 star violin bow until I looked at it much closer, because I had requested both; for whatever reason, the cheaper 2 star bow is simply better on my bow. I've had it now for about 6 weeks and would recommend it to anybody who gets to the point that their bow is now the limiting step in sound quality.
