A good example of this maker’s starting series of instruments, with the original label. Perfect tonal balance and versatile dynamic range, suitable for a very wide variety of styles. Nice wood selection, showing typical careful work. The back is of two piece flamed maple. The top of fine grained straight spruce. Tastefully shaded varnish in a reddish brown over yellow ground, showing even wear and good care.

Paul Ritter
A second generation violin maker, Paul Ritter II was born in 1896. Studying first with his father, later with Neumarker, he established his workshop in Schöneck after 1887, located in the well-known violin making region of far eastern Germany.
