Well-made Markneukirchen violin, copy of a Gagliano, made in 1928 especially for the Wurlitzer Company in the US. The date indicates the "Golden Era" of Markneukirchen instruments, which were very popular worldwide. The tone is clear and brilliant, well suited for quartet performance.

In fine condition, with excellent wood selection. The back is of two pieces of maple of medium to fine width. The top is of straight grained spruce of varying width. Varnish is of light brown over a golden ground, with dark antiquing at the edges.
