Ingenious multi-layered hardwood flamed maple laminate design maintains Kun's iconic, elegant and comfortable shape, while providing strength and a degree of flexibility. The polished brass fittings and handsome wood finish combine for an attractive finish where form follows function. Basically identical to the design and shape of the Kun Original, with folding ends, for easy storage in your case. Expertly crafted in Italy from fine European maple. Each Bravo rest comes with attractive brown velvet drawstring bag.

"It's the sound improvement that makes the Bravo so attractive. Since I have used the Bravo, my violin sounds much more brilliant . . . I had one of my colleagues try it and she was so amazed she immediately bought a Bravo. Her Bernardel now sounds twice as brilliant as before." -Marc Philipps, Metz France

About This Brand

The World’s Most Famous Shoulder Rest, and Deservedly So

Violin and bow maker Joseph Kun pioneered the shoulder rest design that has become ubiquitous with violinists and violists worldwide, and a favorite with generations of artists. Starting with ergonomic design, Joseph Kun solved the age-old dilemma of discomfort for thousands of players. The original three-point adjustment was an innovation that has stood the test of time, remaining popular to this day. Always mindful of tone, Joseph Kun made sure that the new shoulder rest would be attached with minimal contact with the instrument. To meet these ambitious demands, high quality manufacturing was essential, and remains a hallmark of the Kun brand. Today, often in direct collaboration with artists, Kun continues to innovate with new designs and aesthetics, serving violinists and violists at all levels. Kun products are manufactured in Canada.

Asked On: 02/04/2017

Does this fit a 3/4 Violin too? If it is not designed (as-is) to fit a 3/4, any work around? (using cloth?)

SHAR Answer:

This shoulder rest is designed to be used with a 4/4 sized instrument. The width can be adjusted from 6.5" to 7.5". We highly recommend purchasing the correct size shoulder rest for your instrument to ensure proper fit and comfort when playing. Is this exactly the same as the non-collapsible Bravo shoulder rest, in hight of the rest and durability wise?

Hi Al! Yes, both the 1313WC and the 1313W have the same specifications and durability. The only difference between is the collapsible vs non-collapsible feet. Thanks for your question!

Asked On: 11/13/2016

What is the difference between the Kun Bravo shoulder rest 1313WC (for $68.95) and 1313W (for $63.95)?

SHAR Answer:

Hi Cynthia! The Kun Bravo Collapsible (1313WC) allows both feet to fold inside for more compact storage. The standard Kun Bravo (1313W) doesn't not have this feature. Hope this helps!
