About This Item

The New Micro Shoulder Rest, from GelRest

Using the same gel material as the popular GelRest chinrest covers, the new GelRest Micro provides the same soft and pliable comfort in a shoulder rest! Only 3 inches in diameter, and 3/8" thick, the Micro is designed to cushion your collarbone from the edges of your violin or viola. Perfect for anyone who prefers a small shoulder rest, including professionals, students, and baroque players. The Micro can be placed anywhere on the back of your violin or viola, since it does not use rubber bands; instead, the Micro adhesive stays put by means of gentle suction – place it anywhere, and easily remove it afterwards. The Micro adhesive last far longer than standard adhesives, and can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth if it loses its grip.

Attention: Fresh, soft, or brittle varnish can be removed by contact with any gripping surface. If you use an antique instrument, recently had your instrument refinished, or are concerned that your instrument's varnish is soft, you should use this accessory with caution. To avoid possible varnish removal, choose a clip-on shoulder rest, or one that attaches with elastic or rubber bands only.
