Viva La Musica Diamonds are known for their beauty, and this one doesn't disappoint. My violin has a dark finish so the walnut color matches well. And just incase you were wondering, it's not nearly as dark as it appears in that thumbnail picture. It's the exact color as shown in that new 360 degree picture though. I chose the Diamond over other rests (like the Kun Bravo) due to it's light weight. It's very comfortable. And there are many different "settings" to play with since it's so adjustable. I recommend it to anyone whose looking for new rests.

very pretty, but....
This shoulder rest projects sound better by far than a plastic shoulder rest, and it is very attractive, however I am returning it (in favor of a Kun Bravo that is more comfortable for me) for a few reasons: the wood on this rest is thin, and the foam doesn't go all the way to the edge, so at some angles the wood would seem sharp; the foam isn't as thick or squishy as the Kun; unless positioned perfectly, the shoulder rest was repeatedly falling off the violin; and finally, there are adjustment screws for height, and when adjusted down, the screw, which is sharp metal, extends out with no protection and could easily scratch your violin. granted that some of my issues wouldn't affect another player, so my advice is to order more than one brand and see which one works better for you.
