Vision Titanium Solo strings are wound on an advanced synthetic core, while their highly polished surface allows for effortless left-hand technique. They offer incredible focus on the upper strings and clarity and are perfect for soloists. These strings settle in very quickly and offer unparalleled tuning stability. Good Synthetic String, But Not for Me

My violin is an Albani made circa 1700. Its dimensions are slightly smaller than a typical full-size violin. It has a warm, soft, but rich tone, yet a powerful sound that projects well when using Pirastro Eudoxa strings. Since the 1960s, my standard strings have been the Pirastro Eudoxa, although from time to time I used the less powerful Pirastro Gold Label when I didnt have enough money to buy the Eudoxa strings. Over the last three years, I have experimented with several strings offered by Shar Music: Larsen; Pirastro Eudoxa, Olive, Obligato, Evah Pirazzi, and Wonder Tone Solo; and Thomastick Dominants and Vision Titanium. So far, the most satisfactory sounding strings have been the Eudoxa and Olive. Before buying these strings, I spoke with two different Shar salespeople. Based upon what I told them about my violin and other strings I had used, they did not think that these strings would do well on my violin. Nonetheless, I decided to try them, as I had heard to much about them from fellow violinists. These strings sounded metallic from the moment they were put on the violin. While they did settle in as quickly as advertised, that metallic sound never left. Since I play two orchestras, rather than a country and western group, I never felt that my violin fit in with the other violins when using these strings. I also went through three E strings before deciding to make another change. One of my stand mates uses these strings and they really sound terrific on his violin, but they never sounded "right" on my violin.

not good for "sweaty hands"

these titanium strings were recommended for my daughter who has sweaty hands. She has to replace strings every 3-4 months. Unfortunately, 3 strings frayed and broke between 6 and 8 weeks of playing. The sound was beautiful, but they didn't last as long as others we've tried.

Okay, but...

I have used the Vision Solo strings before, and liked them quite a bit. Thought I would try these Titanium, but was rather disappointed in the sound. It is too textured and unclear, at least on my violin.
