Great case!
I bought this case for my cheaper violin I use for teaching. I wanted something a little sturdier than the foam version of this case, which I also really enjoyed. This case is sturdy and fits my bon musica shoulder rest. It is really pretty also. I've had it for several years, and except for damage to the handle, from a bunny chewing on it, I think it will hold up for many years. I would recommend this case for any one looking for an affordable nice case with more room and strength than the foam ones.
Great Case, but Straps Come Unstitched
This case had protected my son's violin well and he appreciates the large outer pocket to store music. Unfortunately, the backpack straps, which are an important feature for him when he brings his violin to school, won't stay attached. The came unstitched after a year or so of use. After I sewed them back in place, they fell off again a few months later. My son (this one, at least!) is pretty careful with his belongings and cares about his violin, so I don't think this is a result of misuse. So, if the backpack straps aren't important to you, this case is great!
Excellent Violin Case
I purchased this as my first violin case, and it is an excellent case! I would definitely recommend this case to anyone. A Bonmusica shoulder rest OR a Kun collapsible shoulder rest fit inside the case - using the velco strap. (i've tried both) My Shar Metro-Tuner, rosin, cloth, and mute all fit inside the storage compartment in the case, with a little room to spare. Personal opinion: when I purchased this case, I was pleased to find it was not quite as bright as the picture shows.
Beware: The 1/16 Size Case is Too Large!
This case appeared to be well made and seemed a great value for the price, however the "1/16" size case is mis-sized and too large for a 1/16 violin! Specifically, the interior length is too long, preventing the case from appropriately stabilizing the violin, and allowing the body of the violin to slide back and forth. If you have a 1/16th size violin, you may want to avoid this case or risk having to pay return shipping for a case that is too large.
No D Rings!

Great case for the money
For the money, this case can't be beat - I bought one of these as a substitute when my Musafia case was being repaired. I was so happy with it that I ended up selling my Musafia case and holding onto this one! Very light and protective - I accidentally dropped it once on the subway (with my Camillo Camilli inside) and everything was perfectly fine; the violin wasn't even out of tune. My only complaints about this case would be: 1. There is a bit of a smell when it's new, but it fades after about a month of regular use (faster, if you air it out). 2. The bow holders are kind of cheap and break easily, but they are easily removable. I replaced the bow holders in mine with Bobelock bow holders and have had no problems since then. 3. The outer cover of this case is made of very strong material that can be abrasive to some fabrics - after carrying it around on my back for a few months, I noticed that some of my T-shirts were developing holes where the case rubbed against my back. I didn't have any problems once the weather got colder and I started wearing a jacket. In fact, this case held up very well in the winter once I added a humidifier (I used the Oasis Plus) and my violin hasn't experienced any open seams.
Who really needs more?
Best case for the price. A plywood shell case (not just a foam thing with fabric glued on) for great protection. Does what you need a case to do for no money. The only thing I sometimes like that it doesn't have is room for 4 bows. For that, you need an oblong case. Unless you can and want to spend around a thousand for a premium leather case to sit on your piano, these are about as good as most anything else. Put your money into your instruments instead.
Very disappointed
Problems with this case. The lock on the case is difficult to open if you have arthritis in your hands. I would never lock the case because it only had one tiny and flimsy key to it and if you lost that key??? Also, I have a standard 4/4 size violin but it would not lie flat in the case. The center support holds the neck up high enough and at an angle so that the violin isn't flat and supported. The storage case is very small and since I have two types of rosin, a practice mute and special music earplugs, there wasn't room for everything. Also because of the angle of the top storage pocket, it held very little music and no notebooks. I had to pay for the return postage and it cost $23.10 because of the dimensions of the box.
This IS a cheap case.
I'll be honest--this is a cheap case. It is very light weight and it will protect your instrument. It is convenient to carry (it has two backpack straps). There are velcro straps to secure the instrument's by the neck and another to secure a shoulder rest. Room for two bows, and two plastic clamps to secure the bows. A zippered cloth outer bag protects the interior case from the weather. The workmanship is poor--the top of my case doesn't exactly close evenly on the bottom. The inside of it reeks of some chemical that they probably sprayed it with to kill bugs in whatever country it was made in . I had to let mine air out for a day. In the box also comes some extra metal feet, some extra screws and an extra bow clamp. I opted to install the third bow clamp so my bow would be extra secure. The case is made of soft plywood and can easily be drilled and screwed into. The outer cloth protective bag is actually secured to the plywood case shell with screws. One reviewer complained that there are no D rings for a shoulder strap--he could have easily added some with little effort. Doing so would only improve the case and it is an option I am considering adding myself. I'm handy with tools and would do that anyway. Am I happy? Sort of. It's a better case than I used to have. It will handle trips via public transit and easily survive a rain or snow storm. I play gigs in bars, so it will no doubt get a beer soak test. (I hope it passes!) After buying it I know realize why cases like BAM cost ten times what this one does. Short answer-- this is a cheap case.
Great quality, great price!
This is a wonderful case with high quality interior, zippers, hardware. The backpack straps are very convenient - not many cases in this price/quality range have them. I shopped around a bit, decided to go with this case, and am 100% satisfied. I'm a traveling instrumental teacher and this case is perfect to carry my demo violin. This is actually the first review I've ever written for something I've bought online - I always read others' reviews and felt this case deserved a 5 star rating. Also, like the viola case model, this violin case has a hdyrometer and string tube (not pictured).

great for fraction violin, too
100% satisfied. My daughters used this case size 1/10, 1/8, 1/4 because my friend recommended. No damage ever and very convenient for little kids. If you want to keep your hands free and doesn't like accident, go this model.
