Edvard Grieg's Norwegian Dance, No 1, Op 35, No 1, was published in 1881 as part of a four dance set of folk dances. The piece features Grieg's characteristic energy alongside the Norwegian melody. Originally composed for piano four hands, the piece translates exceptionally to string quartet.
