Edward Elgar's beloved Serenade in e minor, Op. 20, has long been a favorite of string orchestras. It is full of Elgar's rich English romanticism, and, though a relatively youthful work for the composer (based on a now-lost piece called Three Pieces for String Orchestra, premiered when Elgar was 30), there is a decided maturity about it. This transcription now makes it available to the string quartet as well.
This edition contains a score and parts for two violins, viola, and cello. Transcribed and edited by Graham Bastable. Published by the International Music Company.
