Claude Debussy's La Boîte à Joujoux (which means "The Toy Box") was originally conceived as a ballet for\n children, with words and pictures by André Hellé. The story dramatizes the "life" of toys in a toybox, their joys and strife. In this arrangement by H. Mouton, some of the main themes from the ballet have been set for piano trio. The challenges in this piece lie in counting, and in being able to quickly read and process the notes on the page, including many enharmonic spellings (double-flats, etc.).
This edition is a reprint of the 1914 Durand Edition, and contains a piano score, a violin part, and a cello part. It also includes two optional parts: a B-flat clarinet part (which doubles the violin), and a bass part (which doubles the cello). Arranged by H. Mouton. Published by Lauren Publications.
