French composer Cecile Chaminade was quite prolific, writing many character pieces for piano, some songs for voice and piano, and others. In a time when women as professionals of any kind were rare, Chaminade pursued a career as a performer and composer, often against prescribed norms. Ambroise Thomas, one of her contemporaries, said of her, "This is not a woman who composes, but a composer who is a woman." The Piano Trio in g minor, Op. 11 is a beautiful, romantic work in four movements, in which the piano and strings play equal and complementary roles.
This edition contains parts for violin, cello, and piano. Published by Hildegard Publishing Company.
