Many of these duets are polyphonic. I like having melodic interest in both parts. The parts are equal, unlike some duets that have one fun part and one boring part. The rhythms are straight forward, but players must count carefully because the parts have independent rhythms. The keys are basic -- up to two sharps and up to two flats. I highly recommend this book for developing ensemble skills and exposing students to Baroque repertoire.
