Fugue in B Minor on a Theme by Corelli (BWV 579) by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) for String Orchestra (Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola 1, Viola 2, and Cello/Bass) Transcribed and Arranged by Ronald C. Dishinger Published by Medici Music Press
This intermediate level arrangement by Ronald Dishinger of J.S. Bach's Fugue in B minor on a Theme of Corelli, BWV 579, is written for string orchestra, but can easily have parts narrowed down for quintet or chamber group. It includes three copies of each violin part, two of the viola and cello parts, and one of the bass part (all on a single one-sided page), as well as the bound reference score. The piece has some complex string crossings and rhythms (mostly in the 1st violin part), but is simple enough to be an arrangement great for intermediate student recitals, solo and ensemble competitions, or church and worship settings. It is available in several other instrumentation arrangements. For the String Quintet version with just one copy of each part, see item 5606 166.
