So I’ve gone through a few systems, the Galamian, the Hirmlay and (with chills) the Flesch. This is a book that not only gives you good solid fingerings but a world class pedagogues methods for how to play in tune and explains “expressive intonation”. It truly has everything you need and more I have played the three octave scales for about 3 days and this has improved my intonation in 3 days more than just practicing them in months of practice. He structures intonation and scales in a method that makes everything approachable and result oriented. He doesn’t say I want to do this because this is the tradition he goes in with the mindset that I just want my kids to play their scales and play them in tune. and if you just play what’s on the page you manage excellent scale practice that improves your scales and playing overall incredibly.
