Giovanni Battista Cirri was an Italian composer and cellist in the Classical period. Though a good deal of his work has been lost, a number of quality pieces for Cello have survived, including his Sonata in C Major. Despite being a virtuoso himself, his compositions tend to be student oriented. Not technically demanding, they are pleasantly melodic and great for performing, offering a chance to get into sonata form early.
Includes the Cello part, a Basso part for accompanying cello or bass, and a piano score extrapolated from the Basso part. This piano part is of a similar difficulty level to the cello part, suitable for developing pianists.
For Cello and Piano. Published by Boosey & Hawkes.
