very pleased

Wonderful case! Except the leather straps broke after 2 years and my violin won't stay tied down. I'd suggest upgrading to the next level Embassy because it has Velcro instead of leather!

Practical

This is a pretty nice case for the price. It has plenty of room for your music, shoulder rest and any other stuff that you need to carry with you. I really have liked my case and do recommend this case. I have the red interior and it looks great!

Great Case

I have had this case for just over a year now (in the beautiful green) and have been extremely pleased. I teach and play every day, so it gets a lot of use. Highly recommended.

missed an important detail

It's such a shame that they didn't add straps to keep the case from opening to far and ripping the hinges out of the wood. When a company produces a good product but has that "Duhh" moment that lets them slip a product out with an important missing detail, it really amazes me. My case was so beautiful and frustrating as it self destructed within a week and would have not done so if it had a simple strap to keep it from killing itself.

Really tight fit, too small for my full size vln

I just received this case and thought it looked gorgeous and well built. However, upon trying to put my violin in it, the fit of the case is WAY too tight for my liking. I have two violins, and one that is the bigger model of the two can't even fit all the way in. The one that can fit is super tight and the rubbing and friction of putting an instrument in and out of it is going to put too much wear on it. Embassy, why so tight?

Not Well Made

At first, I found no flaws this case! It had all these great compartments and accessories for my violin, and I thought that I made an unbelievable deal. I ride the bus and have many rehearsals and events all over the place. I guess the travel took it's toll, because the outside fabric of the case started coming off of a corner only a month later. I dismissed it, but now all four corners are now coming off. I guess I'll need to use some glue to fix it, but I expected it to resist wear for a longer time, rather than the 6 months of current ownership. The inside is great, and holds my violin in very well, and my Kun original shoulder rest fits in just right. Overall, its a great buy, but I wish it were more durable. Oh, and it arrived in the mail exactly on time, and very well packaged.

Not Rubber On the Outside

After doing some research on different violin cases for my needs (I am a non-professional fiddler who still lugs her fiddle around to lots of events) I decided to go with the Embassy Courier because it was not as expensive as some, and was advertised as having a 'texturized rubber exterior.' It doesn't. The exterior is fabric, and the 'rubber' turns out to be vinyl piping at the seams. Still a nice case, but not what I was expecting.

case works well after I got the super glue out

Overall the case is nice and serves my purpose. I did however have problems when I first received it. The hygrometer had come out of place plus some of the material on the inside of the case was not attached. This was easily solved with super glue. I really do think that I should have not had to pull out the super glue bottle for something that is supposed to be brand new. In the past I have been extremely happy with SHAR products so this was somewhat disappointing.

Nice case but fabric rips apart

Within the first year of owning this case, the fabric on the outside has ripped off all along the seams, exposing foam and boards inside. The fabric attached to the backpack straps is also deteriorating so I'm afraid to wear this as a backpack anymore.

Awesome Case.

I am an intermediate student, and I was looking for a better case to provide more room--and this was p e r f e c t. It gives good protection, room, and isn't terribly heavy. Wonderful, great case!

Good for the price, but won't last

I've lived with this case for 2+ years now. It replaced a Lifton case I purchased from Shar in Spring of 1978! I perform and teach so that any case I own gets lots of use. Positives: Great layout inside. I was determined to get a case with the large storage area on the right. I've seen too many instruments with tops gouged out by bow frogs. O.K., it would never happen to me with any case, but it's a feature I wanted. Price is very reasonable, and well worth the money. Weight is good, fairly moderate. Negatives: Like most cases today, it is too "thick" or high if you will. My old Lifton case is about half as deep and seems sturdier, meaning protects the instrument better. Granted, my old Lifton does not have a zippered music area on top, but this and other cases are much taller than needed. The shell is the most important part, not the thick suspension. This case is clearly not made as well as my Lifton. For example, in the first couple days I owned it, the protectors on the bottom -- hollow silver metal half-balls -- made to protect the case crushed on the first use. Hollow, cheap and thin. My old case's are still intact after 30+ years. The piping on the edge of the outside is already wearing badly so that white cotton is showing through here and there. Summary: for the money, this is a great case, with lots of room and very good layout inside, with zippered cover. But don't expect to keep it much more than 4 or 5 years, much less 30. The craftsmanship and size (too tall) are typical of cases today, and no worse. Now if someone could just duplicate the layout inside, make it shallower and stronger and of better materials. . .then you'd have a winner. If I could gut my old case and redesign the interior to match this one's, and put a new cover on it, I'd do it, and enjoy another 30 years. Hope this helps.

Fantastic service/ case

I am a High schooler on Long Island.. They notified me that it had been shipped the day after I ordered it, and was at my door the very next day. This might be due to the fact that it's the Holidays, but I am very impressed (all the way from Michigan). The case is beautiful, not as light green as the picture describes, although makes it all the more suitable for me. Elegant, classy, and tightly holds the violin in place even without the straps! Huge accessory pockets makes it easy for me to transport everything (plus music) in one case. I can't describe how pleased I am with the service and would recommend this beautiful case to anyone looking. Thank you Shar!

Great case for the money

This is a great case. I had my violin in it for years and then I gave it to my daughter and now she uses it. Very durable. I love the leather neck tie instead of velcro. The layout of the case is great with two large pockets for accessories and one "rosin pocket" which is underneath the neck of the violin, so if you typically rosin your bow before you pick up your violin then it's slightly inconvenient. Physically the case has held up very well with only one of the external steel "feet" having fallen off. The tan upholstery is very pretty in real life. Hard to believe this case is only $150.

Very Nice Case

I just had gotten my cases afew days ago and I have to say it is a very great case! This case has three pretty good sized compartments and is just the perfect size. Well worth the money! I have my case with black interior and it looks amazing!

Not well made

I loved this case when I bought it. Beautiful and seemed sturdy enough. But within 6 months and lots of gigs the fabric in the corners started ripping away. Now 2 years later the shoulder strap hooks have completely ripped off and the outside looks terrible. The inside is still beautiful, but I was not expecting to have to buy a new case after only 2 years of use. :(

I'm Coming Back

Embassy, this is a home run! I have had this case for three years, and it is still going strong! It looks very nice, and it has held up against almost anything. I say almost because I did manage to break the handle completely off. (Dont ask) I am about to get a new violin, and I am definitely coming back for this case
