Korg Contact Microphone

Item# CM200

$14.99

In Stock

The CM-200 is a contact microphone that can be attached to the bell of a brass instrument, the bridge of a violin, or even to a guitar or ukulele. The microphone uses a piezo element to directly capture the vibrations and send them to your tuner. The CM-200 is an indispensable item in situations where the mic built into your tuner might have difficulty detecting the sound of your instrument, such as when you're practicing with an entire brass band.

Compared to its predecessor, the CM-200 features a fresh appearance with a sharper design, offering you a choice of three colors: black, white/black, or black/red.

The functionality of the microphone has also been improved. The cable now transmits sound more efficiently, and is more flexible. The connection between the mic and cable has been made more durable, reducing the possibility of breakage. The new clip opens up 7 mm wider than the previous model, providing more space to attach to your instrument. The rubber inside the clip has been redesigned to provide a better fit so that it can be securely attached.

Fits any tuner with a 1/4" jack.

A beautiful example of this master’s work. The back is of two pieces with medium width flaming. Fine oil varnish in deep, lustrous red over a golden ground, with tasteful shading. The instrument is in good to excellent condition.

Georges Apparut
Born in 1877, Georges Apparut trained with some of the finest master makers -- Blanchard, in Lyon, Mougenot, in Brussels, among others. Apparut is considered a classicist, respecting, above all, the works of the Cremonese masters. His instruments are considered very well executed, with exceptional attention to detail and refined finish, traits that were passed on to his apprentices, with many becoming respected luthiers. In 1925, Apparut succeeded Charotte, in Mirecourt, retaining the shop through his career. His work was noticed in his day, garnering multiple awards and medals in Ghent, Paris, and Brussels. Apparut’s work, and the output from his shop, never produced what may be considered trade instruments, rather always focusing on individually made master level instruments.

Gaining a reputation for extremely careful work, notably in arching, scroll and f-holes, his artistic diligence was rewarded by the King of Wurtemberg with his appointment as maker to the Royal Court, greatly increasing his fame throughout Germany. Gwendolyn Masin - Origin CD

Item# GM1CD

$12.00

In Stock

Gwendolyn Masin is one of today's significant concert violinists. She is regarded as "a formidable talent that demands attention" (The Irish Times), "appearing to merge with her instrument and in so doing, enchanting her audience" (Thuner Tagblatt). She is celebrated for "setting first-rate standards in concert performance with her technically superior, refined, intensive and richly contrasting expression" (Der Bund). Masin is descendant of a lineage of classically-trained musicians and remembers playing violin as naturally as having a conversation when she was a child. Her family, imbued with musical insight, helped her to avoid "the pitfalls of child prodigy status" (Figaro.hu). Her formative years were shaped by musical instruction, world travel, performing for audiences in reputable concert halls, and collecting accolades internationally – all by the age of five. At eleven she gained national exposure in Ireland after appearing on The Late Late Show. She has been a regular guest on TV and radio shows and has performed throughout Europe, Russia, South Africa, the Middle East, and North America. ORIGIN is a collection of the cultures, music, traditions and heritage which have shaped Gwendolyn Masin's life and talents. As the descendant in a lineage of musicians from Central and Eastern Europe, the young violinist grew up surrounded by music. She evolved as a player alongside the students of her parents who are founders of a school for gifted young string instrumentalists as well as violinists themselves. Dubbed a prodigy, Gwendolyn performed around the globe and in this way, was exposed to the music and arts of many cultures and places. The maturations of Gwendolyn from childhood prodigy to professional musician was synergistic - a player shepherding her heritage and multicultural background into the ever-changing world of classical music and traditional folk pieces. In her search for own identity, music appears to have found Gwendolyn. She arrived at her present moment, shaped by her experiences, with a unique mind, perspective and string artistic sensibilities. ORIGIN Tracklist:

2. Ernest Bloch: Nigun (Improvisation) from Baal Shem
