The ecoRosin recipes offer a clean and precise bite on the string, with a resonant and open sound. A low to medium traction allows for a generous warmth in sonorous playing. The strength of bite on the string is varied in each recipe to suit the Violin, Viola or Cello.

No leather or wood?
While it's fantastic that this offering from leatherwood is eco-friendly, the rosin itself is also quite good. I must say it brings a clarity and elegance that is hard to find, and is quite enjoyable to play with. This isn't the stickiest rosin but has a very comfortable amount of grip, though at times it feels like the notes lack some assuredness. It doesn't quite reach the same resonance and brilliance of other rosins at this price point, so it's probably most suitable for chamber and orchestra playing, though it is versatile enough to do anything you ask of it. The dust is manageable and doesn't seem to be as much of a nuisance than with my Cecilia sanctus rosin. Overall I find that my playing seems more refined than before with this eco-rosin, so will be looking to purchase another when mine runs out.
