A family craft brought over from Italy. Made in the USA since 1918.
With a family string-making tradition stretching back to at least 1680 in Italy, Charles D'Addario emigrated to the US by 1918 and started making strings in New York. Through the generations new technologies have been adopted and D'Addario now makes an extensive line of strings, all proudly made in the USA.
Ratings & Reviews
Love the Kaplan Amo strings
"Fantastic dyanamic range on both my 1926 & 1966 Ernst Heinroch Roth violas. Whether recording chamber music or in a full orchestra section outdoors, it allows me the broadest range of color from the softest clear pppp to the loudest non-distorted ffff. It also allows me fantastic articulation whether in the fastest Tchaik passages or playing flying violin transcriptions. It arguably advanced my viola playing much closer to my violin ability. I'm now using them on my violin too and I just ordered a set for my cello."
