This well-made German Stradivari copy violin from 1924 has beautiful and woody tone, richly textured and smooth. It is labeled Carlo Micelli, and was likely made for the export trade during that period. The back is of two-piece quarter sawn flamed maple, descending steeply from the center joint. The top is of straight-grained spruce of varying widths. Antique varnish in brown over a golden ground.
