What is the difference btw Franz Hoffmann Maesto SvB2wH44 and Carlo Lambert Sonata item LV11T44? My daughter is 10 years old and have learned violin about 1 year. No pressure on her so no performance or exam for her. Just want her to enjoy playing violin. I guess she can have one more year to play violin. Not sure which one I should buy. Any recommendations?

SHAR Answer:

Hello Wai! The Carlo Lamberti Sonata is the beginning of our intermediate line. It has a warmth and projection that suits serious students who are looking to progress. The Franz Hoffmann Maestro is the top of our student line and has a more mature tone than other Franz Hoffmann instruments. Either would be more than enough for your daughter, though the Sonata would be more of an investment. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Hi- I'm looking at buying this violin for my daughter who is going into 5th grade. She needs a full size. Is this a good instrument for her? Also what is the difference between the case Tc100 and Tc66? I'm new to this and don't want to spend all this money without some assistance. Thanks, Beth

SHAR Answer:

Hello Beth! This violin is the top of our Franz Hoffmann line. It would be a great option for a student moving into a full size and wanting to continue to improve their playing. Regarding the cases, the TC66 is a molded foam, light weight student case. The TC100 is very similar in construction to the TC66, but includes a plywood shell for extra protection. They are both good options for student instruments, though the extra protection offered by the TC100 is preferred by some. I hope this helps!
