Hello my name is Alejandro and I wanted to ask a question about the Paganini Stradivari and the question is: is it an actual Stradivari or a model of it?

SHAR Answer:

Hello Alejandro! Like many other modern violins (and even many violins since the 1800's), this is an instrument inspired by the measurements, wood choice, and varnish of a real Stradivari. While not a copy, it is more so a modern re-creation by some of today's skilled makers, and our own specialists at SHAR. Inspired by the 1727 Stradivarius, which is acclaimed as one of the finest and most perfect of this maker, the original violin was sold to Paganini in 1817 by Count Cozio di Salabue, which really marks the explosion of the worldwide recognition of Stradivarius violins. We are simply following in the footsteps of hundreds (if not thousands) of makers over the past 200 years who recognized and tried to recreate the magic of the Stradivarius violins. This one is very powerful and perfect for the passionate player!
