About This Item

Hungarian music has always been an experiment of old and new, of classical and folk. Hungarian violinists have represented this rich array of styles, from the soaring brilliance of Joachim and Szigeti to the dark passion of Lakatos. Conservatory training in Hungary focuses as much on the meaning of music and the art of ensemble playing as it does on developing technical mastery.

If you are seeking a violin that will allow you to express your many musical ideas, our new Budapest Lutherie violin may be the partner you have been looking for. Maker-made in the modern tradition, the Budapest Lutherie violin possesses the foundation of old Europe – well-aged spruce and maple from the Carpathian Eastern Alpine forests. With a distinctive sound that sets it apart from most of today's violins, a varnish that allows the sound to emerge, and a fine setup for great hand-feel and playability, this violin is equally at home in the concert hall as in the salon. 4/4 size.

Can you describe the blemish on this violin and/or add a picture of the blemish(es)?

SHAR Answer:

Hello Robin! Unfortunately, we do not have pictures of this specific blemished instrument available. Typically, blemished instruments are brand new and arrived in our shop with an aesthetic imperfection of some kind. This is typically a small scratch on the body of the instrument or an imperfection in the varnish and will not effect the sound or playability of the instrument. I hope this helps!
