Perfect

This is the folding stand to get if you alternate between standing and sitting to play. I am 5'2" and it works for me. While I dont have it at full extension, I think it would work for someone up to 5'10". It is very sturdy. I have three Suzuki sized books on it and it hasn't moved. It is very easy to set up and take down. It comes with a carrying case. As I said it is the perfect stand. Much better quality then the price would have you believe.

This stand was nice ... until it broke

I bought this stand 3 and a half years ago. It worked great for about a year, when one of the adjusters broke; I used duct tape from then on to keep the adjuster in place (meaning I couldn't collapse it anymore). I used it maybe once a month. A few weeks ago the adjuster on the bottom broke. Very disappointing. (I still have an inexpensive metal stand from 55 years ago that still works great - I just outgrew it height-wise.) This one is fine for occasional use but didn't last very long.

Not so great this time around

We loved this extra tall stand the first time we ordered!! Worked beautifully to stand up and practice (daughter was putting a stand on our coffee table to practice, before). She misplaced it at music camp so we ordered this stand again, but this one is defective. The main pole comes out of the socket on the bottom with the slightest jiggle and stand collapses. The top of the stand (music holder part) is tippy and won't stay put no matter how we tighten it, sending music flying every once in a while. We feel too lazy/busy to ship it back, so we patched this one with packing tape to get it to work.

Shoddy, but tall

This stand really is extra tall - it's the only folding stand I've ever found I can play with standing up. However, it's also a cheap piece of crap that wobbles and will break in a few weeks. The metal is very flimsy and the screw that tightens to hold the base up stripped in about 2 weeks of light use. I'm worried that the attachment points of the legs are the next to go, because they wiggle and bend whenever there's a breeze. The wires to hold music on are mildly effective, but I still need 2-4 clothespins to play outdoors.
